    We have only two meetings until the tournament. Spread the word to all your friends, and get them to the meeting. Give us some help in recruiting as many anglers as possible. As a group, you can be our best advertisers. Remember that the early bird drawing prizes are getting more substantial.

    This is one of my final opportunities to appeal for help at the weigh stations. I am asking only four hours of your time. At this point my personal investment in the tournament is in the hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars. Is asking four hours too much??? As I mentioned before, duty at a weigh station gives some insight as to what baits are working, what are the best colors, what depths are working, etc. This may be another reason to volunteer. Remember that weigh station volunteers get an extra chance for the early bird drawing.

    By the time you read this, there will be about a month to the tournament. Can you answer yes to all the following questions?

  •        Is the boat and motor in shape?
  •       Are all the electronics working?
  •       Does the fish line need a change?
  •       Is the reel cleaned and oiled?
  •       Is the tackle box straightened out?
  •       Have I reviewed all the rules?
  •       Do I have a current fishing license?
  •       Did I sign up for weigh station duty?

        If your answer to all the questions is yes, I wish you the best of luck in getting the big ones. May the fishing gods guide you to the "big" ones. If only 7 out of 8 are yes, I hope that you get some nice eating size.

        Let's hope for a repeat of last year's weather when every day of the tournament was a fishing day. Fish courteously and safely. Report any suspicious activity to the chairman.
