Are There Too Many Mouths to Feed?


     Are steelhead stocks impacting forage base in Lake Erie? Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, and Ontario stock steelhead, are managers looking at possible impacts of such combined stockings on the lake's forage base? It seems logical that the forage base can support only a limited amount of predator fish (walleye and other native species). The question, what is the capacity of the forage base? Are we putting our walleye stock in jeopardy?
